Dunkin’ doesn’t have a company-wide mandate regarding senior discounts. But there’s still some good news. Many Dunkin’ franchise owners have kept the tradition alive and offer older adults a senior discount if they request one. We called Dunkin’ locations across the country to learn more about what senior discounts are available. For more details about Dunkin’s senior discount and other ways to save at the venerable coffee and doughnut hub, keep reading!
Dunkin’s Senior Discount
Although not a company-wide policy, Dunkin’ franchise owners can choose to offer a senior discount to older adults who ask. And many of them do! However, Dunkin’ locations that once offered a senior discount might have discontinued their discount programs. Always confirm the discount still exists before assuming you’ll get one.

How much of a discount can you expect, if there is one? Our research suggests that Dunkin’ locations offering a discount to seniors typically take 5 or 10 percent off the bill and only apply discounts to full-price items. Meaning, if you order something that’s already discounted due to a special promotion, the Dunkin’ employee might not give you a senior discount on that purchase.

If you poke around online, you can find anecdotal accounts of senior discounts at different locations. We found online sources suggesting that a 10 percent discount or free coffee is common, but that didn’t jibe with our research.1 We called Dunkin’ locations, chosen at random, around the country and found that many of them offer a discount to seniors but for 5 percent rather than 10 percent.
Dunkin’ Senior Discounts, a Random 2024 Sampling
Here are Dunkin’ senior discounts we found when we called locations, chosen at random, across the U.S. (in order alphabetically by city):
- Auburn, Alabama: 10 percent off
- Aurora, Illinois: 5 percent off
- Colorado Springs, Colorado: No senior discount, but they do offer military discounts, which they sometimes extend to seniors as well if someone asks
- Dallas, Texas: 10 percent off
- Las Vegas, Nevada: 5 percent off
- Lincoln, Maine: 5 percent off
- Omaha, Nebraska: None
- Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: 5 percent off
- Phoenix, Arizona: 10 percent off
- Pinellas Park, Florida: 5 percent off
Note that many cities have several Dunkin’ locations, so it’s possible that even if one in a city offers a senior discount, it might not be the case that all of them do. It’s best to ask!

Dunkin’ Rewards members earn 10 points for every $1 spent on qualifying purchases (i.e., not on gift cards, retail merchandise, Keurig pods, products purchased on the website, or charitable donations). Plus, when members visit 12 times in a calendar month, they unlock Boosted Status, which means they’ll start earning 12 points for every dollar instead of 10 for three months. Visit on your birthday (if you enter your birth date in the app or on your Dunkindonuts.com dashboard), and earn three times the points on any purchases.
Members can earn points on any purchase at Dunkin’ locations, via the app, or the Dunkin’ drive-thru, but delivery purchases don’t earn points. Dunkin’ points expire after six months, and rewards expire 30 days after you convert points into a reward.
Here are some of the items you can earn with Dunkin’ Rewards:
- 250 points: one classic doughnut
- 500 points: one hot or iced coffee or cold brew in any size
- 600 points: bites and bagels
- 800 points: breakfast sandwiches, such as a sausage, egg, and cheese
- 900 points: one espresso and frozen drink of any size
In addition to earning points to score food and drinks, Dunkin’ Rewards keeps you updated about specials and promotional deals. In May, for example, nurses could get a free medium coffee in honor of National Nurses Day. In 2023, Dunkin’ announced free coffee Mondays with any purchase for the whole month of May.
